Seminar Sessions on Dramatherapy on Woman by Dramatherapist Vasso Papali
Which interconnection could be detected between modern woman and the Ancient Greek Goddesses?
The dramatherapist Vasso Papali believes that myths about the female element are the medium that helps us comprehend the archetypes functioning in the fields of psychology and our personality. They might be distant during the time span but they encapsulate eternal values. Then as now, myths were created in order to inspire and remind us about the sanctity of existence. She uses myths, fairy-tales, novels and theatrical plays in her dramatherapy, in order to approach the real-life roles and conditions through the fictional ones.
The beginning was made by the rigorous study of Medea, the Archetype of Mother. She was the Great Mother that had been worshiped for over thousand years by the pre-historic people. Medea’s archetype has survived throughout the centuries and she lives inside every woman that suppresses her children in either rough or delicate ways. She will be always there without showing mercy, until women are going to be treated with love, respect, tender, protection, freedom.
Hence, an idea is born in order to enhance all the free, conscious and inspiring elements in the role of mother. These mothers will wean descendants with free consciousness and generous temperament and these ideals can be detected inside the female archetypes of the Ancient Greek Goddesses, before the coming of the patriarchy.

Goddess Venus is the mother of love and the eternal woman. She is emerging from the sea, a place that represents the primeval essence, our origin and our destination. She is a female mythological archetype that stands for the marvelous beauty and she is directly connected with the pre-patriarchal worship of the great goddess. Her existence and radiance is a symbolism of the union of male and female, from which live and evolution are derived.
At this seminar, we are going to investigate our relation with the personal contradictions through myths and the ceremonial theatre. Can these contradictions stand as barriers to the conciliation with ourselves? Our goal is to achieve the union of our special fragments and the creation of a dance-hymn that will be dedicated to Eros.
The seminar is addressed to women of all ages.
