The play by Rémi De Vos “Till death do us part” (“Jusqu’ a ce que la mort nous separe”), has been presented for the first time in the framework of the festival “The Low Budget Festival Speaks… French” organised by the www.tospirto.net and the French Institute of Greece at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation. There had been scheduled 3 performances (31/5 & 1, 2/6), which due to high interest of the audience became 5 (within the same dates), without, though, even these be enough to respond to the demand.

Therefore, the black comedy “Till death do us part” stands out and continues its course for one more week: From Friday, 15th to Friday, 22nd of June 2012 (Sunday of National Elections excluded, 17.6.2012), at the specially configured underground level of the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.

“Till death do us part” by Rémi De Vos
Madlene – the mom
Simon – the son
Anne – Simon’s childhood love
A triangle with very flexible angles

A black comedy which begins with grandmothers’ cremation and ends up to a marriage.
An accident with the urn gives rise to a wild and fun game of sentimental alternations between mourning and love.

Three inopportune figures which are called to renegociate their fears and wishes, facing complexes of the past and the ghosts of the future.

As the play’s translator Dimitris Filias very correctly points out, the writer Remy de Vos is qualified with a contemporary subversive writing which opens new theatrical paths at the dawn of the 21st century.

“The play talks about love, death and time that passes (undoubtedly – with no other option). It refers to lie, hate, desire and madness. It refers to many more issues as well (…)”

 Rémi De Vos

The play “Till death do us part”- “Jusqu’ a ce que la mort nous separe”, was a new creation in the framework of the artistic occupancy at the CDDB – Theatre de Lorient and has been presented in premiere before the audience in October 2006, just before be performed in Paris at the theatre du Rond-Point.
