«Don’t Forget To Go Home», based on the folk tale “The Dead Brother” | Artistic group Kolektiva Balkana

 
The artistic group Kolektiva Balkana with the theatrical performance «Don’t Forget To Go Home», based on the folk tale “The Dead Brother” and after the performances in Berlin (Theater Verlängertes Wohnzimmer, Acker Stadt Palast & Ambulatorium Theaterraum) travels in May to Athens, Michalis Cacoyannis Foundation and in June to Patras, Lithographio Theatre and Thessaloniki, Sofouli Theatre.
 
1995 Yugoslavia. Milica, is rescued to Greece by her brother, Jovan, who after some time migrates himself to Germany. 20 years later, a tragic event will bring them back to the house that they grew up in and time starts to turn backwards, bringing to the surface what has been buried by time and distance. 
 
Using the folk tale of “The Dead Brother” as a starting point, the play discusses immigration and the violent conditions in which migrants and refugees are subjected daily in Europe today. «Don’t Forget To Go Home» is a collaboration of Greek and foreign artists who are based in Berlin. 
 
Spyros Markopoulos and Despina Bibika play the brother and sister, the text and directing is by Dimitra Mitsaki, the dramaturgy by Stavros Markoulidakis, stage and costume design by Ermina Apostolaki, light design by Sylvain Faye, music composition by Penelope Gkika and Maria Koltsida and production management by Panos Ydraios.
