The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Hellenic Republic, presents in 

first preview the Venezuelan movie “Blue and not so pink”, by the renowned Venezuelan

director Miguel Ferrari, on Thursday 18 March, at 19:30, at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.

The movie will be projected with Greek subtitles.

 

The movie “Blue and not so pink”, a co-production of Venezouela – Spain tells us the story 

of Diego, a successful photographer who decides to formalise his relationship with Fabricio, by going to live with him. With an unexpected way though he is forced to take care 

of his son Armanto, who lives in Spain and has many years to see. His son arrives with a suitcase full of complains, making it even harder for Diego to restore their affectionate relationship. In the meanwhile, a group of fanatic homophobics make a brutal attack on Fabricio leaving him in a coma as a result.The movie won many prizes/distinctions, like the Goya Award 2014 – Best Iberoamerican Film, the Audience award at the 11th Skip City International D-Cinema Festival 2014 – Japan and the Max Award – Best Feature Film at the 11th Festival Internacional El Lugar Sin Limites 2013 – Ecuador, among others.

 

After the screening of the movie, and with the director Miguel Ferrari present, there will be a Cinema Forum entitled “The new age in Venezuelan Cinema”, where the huge progress that the Cinema in Venezuela has made during the last years will be presented. It’s worth noting that the Bolivarian Government has funded the national cinema productions and a great progress has been achieved in that field, having as a result its local production to surpass countries with significant cinema tradition, like Argentina and Chile. At the Forum, the attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions to Miguel Ferrari, the director of the movie, who the Ambassador of Venezuela in Greece will accompany at the panel.

Miguel Ferrari is an actor, graduate of the Training Institute of Dramatic Arts and a graduate with Distinction of Theatre of the Academic Institute for Theatre. He studied Cinema Direction at Septima Ars School, in Spain. Among his movie interpretations, his role as a transvestite at the personification of Hector at the Color of Glory (El tinte de la fama, 2008) stands out for which he won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Cinema Festival of Merida (2008), the Primary Cinema Award (2008) and the Best Character Award at the Diversity Festival FESTDIV (2011). As a director he has been awarded for the scenario of his first short film “Todo lo que sube”, for which he was awarded with the Primary Cinema Award, the Best Screenplay Award, the Best Short Film Award (2008) and the Award of the National Cinema Festival of Margarita 2008 (Special Mention).
