A poetic work presented in a Musical and Theatrical Monologue

For the first time, the poetic work of Costas Montis “Letters to Mother” (“Grammata sti Mhtera”) will be presented in a musical, theatrical dialogue.

Through the letters the poet chronicles his sorrow at the events during those critical years in Cyprus as he recounts them to Mother, his only refuge, for all that which converged and was concentrated in one impervious geometric circle without any hope of escape* neither for himself nor for the country.

Through a constant dialogue with the music, the nightmare unfolds as emotion is torn away, dreams are snatched up by conjurers, people, alienated and hiding behind their window, marching like ants without knowing where they are going, the faceless face of power, the inglorious end to the campaign of 1955-1959 and the Turkish invasion of 1974.

Melodies, sounds, songs and lyrics compose those great untold truths of our soul and our time.
