The Michael Cacoyannis Foundation and the Organization for the Management of Cinema Technicians – Rights “ISOCRATES” present on Monday, 2nd of June 2014 at 21:00, at the Foundation’s Cinema Hall,the film entitled Clapper STORY, a documentary by Prokopis Dafnos for the veteran of Greek cinema Despina Kontogiorgou.
The film
Despina Kontogiorgou, first woman script and assistant director in the history of Greek cinema, started her career in 1950. She worked for years on film sets in outstanding films (THE WOLF-1951, THE BAREFOOT BATTALION-1953, STELLA-1955, PHAEDRA – 1962, etc.), as well as in numerous foreign film productions.
With her dynamic and special personality won the respect of her Greek colleagues, cinema technicians, who recognized her talent and her methodical work, which affirmed her as an important woman of film sector.
Despina Kontogiorgou, 85 years old today, adored the cinema, as she confesses on camera of Prokopis Dafnos. With powerful speech and enjoyable style refers to a period as well as those who worked behind the camera, the way she experienced it.
