The great success of the KOPERNIKOS group, “NO MUSIC ALLOWED,” which was loved by children and adults alike, will be presented for the 2nd consecutive year at the welcoming MICHAEL CACOYANNIS FOUNDATION, premiering on October 22!
SUMMARY: “In a beautiful and quiet apartment building, Mr. Eudaimon, a stern and disciplined manager, lives an absolutely quiet everyday life. Everything is turned upside down, however, when a young musician moves into the adjacent apartment! Mr. Eudaimon, disturbed by the melodies and joyful sounds, devises a mischievous plan to drive him away. At the same time, the young neighbor tries to win his friendship, showing him that music is everywhere, even in his sterile and lifeless existence!”
As much as the title tries to convince us otherwise, this is a performance filled with music, humor, and fun that, in the most beautiful and imaginative way, shows us that EVERYTHING IS MUSIC! The rich, meaningful story speaks about friendship, diversity, freedom, and respect. How can many different people ultimately come together and what do they have to gain from each other when there is a willingness and good intentions for collaboration? What happens when the roles are reversed, and we become the “different” one?
With original songs performed live on stage with natural instruments (piano, accordion, ukulele, etc.) and with the help of the children-audience (!), it is proven that everyone is worthy of respect and a second chance for friendship and joy! Apart from the intense musical presence and educational characteristics, the performance is not lacking in humor, action, lively interaction, and clever theatrical dialogues, elements that characterise every work of the KOPERNIKOS group.
The text bears the signatures of the two-time State Award-winning writers Angelos Angelou and Emi Sini, founding members of the KOPERNIKOS group, while the direction is – once again – by the imaginative Guy Stefanou.
