The Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, with the kind sponsorship of the National Bank, has completed this year’s five-month Workshop for young playwrights (WYP/ΕΝΘΕΣΥ).

Following last year’s sold out performances of the pays which received distinction, the MCF is staging three more One Act Plays which stood out in this year’s Workshop.

Along with the presentation of the performances, the plays will, once again, be published in two editions (English and Greek) by the Greek scriptwriter’s publications.  Assisting in the process of bringing these works to the stage are the directors Roula Pateraki, Giorgos Lyras, and Renos Charalambidis, along with a host of actors who enthusiastically embraced the project.

The   purpose   of   the   Workshop  for  young   playwrights  and   the   MCF, along with   the  National Bank,  under the direction of Iraklis Logothetis, is to continue to discover fresh new talent, offering the opportunity for it to grow and meet its audience and to explore the relationship formed between the two.  The project also seeks to introduce young playwrights to the cultural and theatrical community, offering them the opportunity for open dialogue.

Equally important is the MCF’s aim to introduce and promote the works of these young playwrights in Greece but also internationally, through the connections it holds with cultural institutions, as well as the book market through the publication of the works in both Greek and English.

The three one act plays, each running approximately 40 minutes, will be presented one after the other, in one performance, in the following order:
