ALOGA: The language of horses embraced with the primordial human language of dance, in all possible combinations.
Aloga- The performance “plays” with the different meanings of the word. In modern Greek- άλογο (álogo, “horse, cavalry”) and in Ancient Greek- ἄλογος (álogos,“unreasoning, speechless”, adjective).
Choreographer’s note-by Elena Christodoulidou: Sometimes there is a reason for everything, or there isn’t… We are obliged to seek one by our human nature. Starting by the unreasoning- the absence of reason. In a ride of search of her own reasoning and foul of challenges. Ivi, Stefanie, Giannis and Regina have studied classical and contemporary dance. Konstantinos (Chamba) and Adonis (Lee) have studied street dance. In this choreographic work we combined totally different habits and mentalities. We discovered all together for the umpteenth time, how much a body can surpass its limits and its comfort zones by paying attention only to the senses, the relations between the bodies and to what really makes the bodies move in that imaginary point where movement can be developed in a liberating way: By developing and escaping its conventional limits, from tip to toe, in order to be diffused into different imaginary points in the room.
