“Dust” is a multiform art exhibition with photos, video art and original musical composition by Costas Papageorgiou based on the homonymοus theatre play of Eleni Chatzi.

The text is inspired by the true story of Caroline and Will Hederson.

Caroline and Will were farmers in Oklahoma, United States during the Great Depression of the 1930s and “Dust Bowl”, when the Midwest and Southern states were covered with dust and transformed into an endless desert.

The prolonged drought and the human errors caused soil erosion while the strong winds caused clouds and dust storms. Desolated cities, suffocated people and animals, houses and machines were buried in dust, insects and rodents ravaged everything.  Nevertheless Caroline and Will didn’t abandon their land, they stayed and fought.

An allegoric and poetic text is transformed by the photographer and musician Costas Papageorgiou into an artistic set with the actresses Olia Lazaridou and Tina Giotopoulou and the compositor Nikos Xydakis as narrators .

The Exhibition “Dust” is about the story of Caroline and Will that travels through time and space, combined with our present by using landscapes, faces, sounds and the lost dreams of our own reality.
